Jennifer Lopez Laughs Off Scientology Reports
Latina actress Jennifer Lopez has laughed off reports she is studying controversial religion Scientology.
The Maid in Manhattan star is good friends with King of Queens actress Leah Remini, who is a devout Scientologist, as well as fellow celebrity followers of the religion such as Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, John Travolta and Kirstie Alley. But after recent speculation suggested Remini was attempting to convert Lopez to the L. Ron Hubbard-created religion, Lopez's representative says, "No. People can be just friends." Jennifer Lopez claims to be a Catholic since birth. Posted on 23 Jun 2006
Jennifer Lopez wedding tape thief going to jail
The man accused of stealing Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's wedding video has pleaded guilty in court Wednesday of attempted grand larceny.
Tito Moses, one of two men who tried to negotiate a $1 million ransom from the celebrity couple, was promised a more lenient sentence of one-and-a-half to three years behind bars by Manhattan's state Supreme Court for his admission of guilt. Moses and his accomplice were caught when a 'rep' for Lopez and Anthony turned out to be an undercover cop. They stole the couple's June 2004 wedding video from a laptop computer in Anthony's Cadillac Escalade in October 2005. Moses is still awaiting sentencing in New Jersey for the car theft. Steven Wortman, Moses' alleged partner in crime, has pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy, attempted grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. His case is pending. Jennifer Lopez 's husband involved in a brawl
Jennifer Lopez's husband Marc Anthony got into a brawl with paparazzi - after they tried to take a picture of his wife.
The Latin singer was accompanying J Lo to the Women in Film Awards, in Los Angeles, last week, when an eager snapper shoved Anthony, while trying to get closer to his spouse. The 'I Need to Know' singer reportedly flew into a rage and pushed the startled photographer back, before shouting, "Don't ever push me again, and step back! Step back away from her!" An onlooker said: "One photographer shoved Marc as he was trying to get through. He exploded. He physically shoved one guy back." The 36-year-old singer has previously admitted that he wants to become the official photographer of his superstar wife. He said: "Jennifer got me into it. I love photographing her. She's such a great subject, she is my muse." Posted on 14 Jun 2006
Jennifer Lopez wins flashdance lawsuit
The woman who inspired the movie FLASHDANCE lost her court battle against JENNIFER LOPEZ yesterday (12JUN06), after alleging the I'M GLAD singer mimicked some of the film's memorable scenes in her video for the song. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco, California, held up a lower court's decision that MAUREEN MARDER gave up her rights to the 1993 film when she signed a release form with Paramount Pictures in 1982. Marder has filed several cases to gain a copyright interest in the film, which has grossed over $150 million (GBP83 million) worldwide. The three-judge panel also backed the lower court's dismissal of Marder's claims against Lopez and the Sony Corporation. The ruling stated "there is simply no evidence that her consent was obtained by fraud, deception, misrepresentation, duress or undue influence". Marder was played by JENNIFER BEALS in the hit movie, where she portrayed as a construction worker by day and an exotic dancer by night, who aspired to join a prestigious dance school.

Jennifer Lopez turns out for New York's Puerto Rican Day parade
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony lent Hollywood glamour to the Puerto Rican Day Parade on Sunday - and attracted such a horde of paparazzi that police officers and Guardian Angels kept them roped off from the crowds as they marched.
"The Puerto Rican parade has been a long-standing tradition in my life. It was always an event that I looked forward to every single year," said Anthony, who led the parade with his wife, Lopez, and Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Salsa music blared from dozens of floats as the parade made its way up Fifth Avenue past a sea of revellers waving the red, white and blue Puerto Rican flag. The Puerto Rican parade, an annual event in New York since 1958, has grown to be one of the city's largest. Although it was impossible to estimate this year's crowd, hundreds of thousands have attended in recent years. Posted on 12 Jun 2006

J. Lo gets love from Women in Film
"I love you." Those were the words a teary-eyed Jennifer Lopez chose to cap her acceptance speech at Tuesday's Women in Film Crystal/Lucy Awards. Honoree Lopez was gazing down at husband Marc Anthony, whom she thanked for getting her through the hard times.
Moments earlier, Anthony had his arm clasped around her as they watched clips from nearly all her films. Not included: Gigli and Jersey Girl, the two films Lopez starred in with ex-fiancé Ben Affleck. During an earlier salute to songwriter Diane Warren, Affleck did make a brief appearance on the screen via a Pearl Harbor clip, but neither Jennifer Lopez nor Anthony reacted. Outfitted in a black MaxMara gown, Jennifer Lopez credited her glow to "five days of rest, which is rare for me," and sidestepped questions about pregnancy reports. "I told her I wanted to punch her in the face (because) she looks so pretty," cracked friend Leah Remini (King of Queens). Jennifer Lopez addressed reports that she has been cast as Sue Ellen Ewing in the upcoming Dallas film. "Sue Ellen was a Texas beauty queen, so I think I can kind of fit into that," said Jennifer Lopez, who raised her hand in the air, miming the character's love for the bottle. "I'll have a little crystal glass. But nothing's set in stone. I talked to John Travolta (who'll be playing J.R.) and he said, 'Are you going to do it?' And I said, 'I think so.'" Jennifer Lopez received the Crystal Award for her charity work and strong portrayals of women. Of her trophy, Jennifer Lopez said, "I already have a love affair with diamonds - and now with crystal as well." Posted on 08 Jun 2006
