Jennifer Lopez - quite a show on American Idol
Glamorous Jennifer Lopez burned up the stage Wednesday night on American Idol. The superstar performed her single "Que Hiciste," marking the first time a guest artist sang entirely in Spanish on the show.
The celebrity mentor this week vowed her opinion about the contestants’ performances on Tuesday. Before making her comments, Lopez stated she comes from the Paula Abdul school of criticism, not Simon’s. "A lot of them impressed me," she said. "It's such a hard thing. A lot of people don't realize -- you get used to the show, it's been a couples seasons now -- it's so much pressure to come up here and do what they do every week. I really do take my hat off to everybody." Last night was also the first extended hour-long broadcast of Idol 6's results show. Rapper Akon was invited to perform "Don't Matter" and the Top 8 entertained the audience singing "Bailamos." Also, some clips of Cowell's trip to Africa to promote “Idol Gives Back” were showed and a video of J.Lo mentoring the contestants was aired. The remaining finalists will all perform live on Tuesday, April 17 beginning at 8PM ET on Fox and will be mentored by country singer Martina McBride. Then on Wednesday, April 18 at 9PM ET the field of finalists will be narrowed to six. Posted on 12 Apr 2007
Jennifer Lopez blasts marriage split reports
Jennifer Lopez has slammed reports claiming her marriage to third husband Marc Anthony is in jeopardy, calling the allegations "disgusting lies." An article in the new edition of OK! magazine reports the couple has "called it quits" after a tumultuous few months in which the "controlling" Anthony has "suffocated" his wife.
Quoting a source close to the pair, the article says, "Marc is very machismo. (He) won't let her even do a photo shoot by herself. He is always there watching, waiting." But Jennifer Lopez denies her marriage is on the rocks and is looking into taking legal action against the publication. Her representative tells the New York Daily News, "(The article is) a disgusting story full of lies. We're consulting lawyers." A friend of the couple adds, "They're inseparable. I don't get a whiff of trouble." The "Waiting for Tonight" star wed the Latino actor/singer in June 2004, and recently spoke of Anthony as her "perfect match." Posted on 12 Apr 2007

Jennifer Lopez's Britney sorrow
Jennifer Lopez feels sorry for Britney Spears - and can relate to her breakdown. The 'Wedding Planner' star - who lived in the media spotlight during her relationships with P Diddy and Ben Affleck - can understand why the 'Toxic' singer shaved her head and checked into rehab.
Jennifer told Elle magazine: "I feel very sorry for Britney because I understand what she's going through. It's very easy to judge from the outside, but if you've been in that situation you know hard things can get, everything becomes so mad. For me, personally, it was always work that pushed me. But I feel sorry for her. I really do. " Jennifer says she decided to change her lifestyle a few years ago because she didn't want to get too wrapped up in her celebrity status. She explained, "The lifestyle just gets to you after a while. I mean, it can be great, it can be exciting, but it's just totally full on. It takes over everything else, and soon it all becomes too much. I decided to get off the spinning carousel ride. It was a definite choice I made and I have to say it was quite a scary one because, even though you know that you feel you want the madness to stop, once you stop it and get off your first instinct is to panic and then jump right back on." No mo' J. Lo?
Jennifer Lopez told the Brit-paper "The Guardian" that she will no longer use the moniker J. Lo. "That's all gone with all the ridiculous stories about tantrums and Egyptian sheets. That's all my past," she said. "I'm Jennifer Lopez. I think, as a woman, I've finally grown more sure of who I am. It does seem ironic that it has taken me more than a decade to basically get back to who I am." So she's no longer Jenny from the block?

Jennifer Lopez's butt vow
Jennifer Lopez would never be a size zero because she'd miss her "boobs and butt". The 'Wedding Planner' star - famous for her curves - has slammed the size zero phenomenon and says she couldn't bear to lose her famous curves. Jennifer told Elle magazine: "I couldn't ever be a size zero. I have a butt, I have boobs and I have a woman's curves - there is no way I'd see them go to zero. I just don't see how I could get down to that size and still be healthy. It wouldn't work."
Jennifer says it is "insane" that some models are killing themselves to be thin and insists the secret to true beauty is feeling happy about yourself. She said: "I hate to look in a magazine and see a picture of a girl who is so thin she looks unhappy and as if she just needs someone to give her a good meal. There are girls out there who are dropping dead on catwalks because it's all about being thin. That's insane. For me, looking good is all about looking healthy and the ultimate beauty secret is about being happy in yourself." Posted on 07 Apr 2007
Jennifer "Columbus" Lopez
Jennifer Lopez considers herself the "Christopher Columbus of romance". The 'Wedding Planner' star, who is now happily married to singer Marc Anthony, spent all her time searching for love after her two high-profile relationships with P Diddy and Ben Affleck failed. J.Lo said: "I'm so happy right now. I know people have criticised me a lot in the past and I am the first to admit I've made a lot of mistakes along the way. I now think of myself as the great explorer of love. Kind of like the Christopher Columbus of romance! I've been through some rough seas and had some disasters, but in the end, I found what I was looking for."
Interest in the 37-year-old actress-and-singer's relationship with Ben was so intense they became the first celebrity couple to earn a combined nickname - 'Benifer'. But since she met Marc, J.Lo now knows that love isn't about drama. The Latin star - who tied the knot with Marc in 2004 - said: "When you are very young you think that it's all about the big dramatic stuff, the diamonds, the excitement, that sort of thing. As you get older you realise that the thing that keeps a relationship together is more humdrum domestic stuff. I wanted to have that with Marc." Posted on 07 Apr 2007
