Ojani Noa And Producer Laugh Off Jennifer Lopez's Cease And Desist Letter
JENNIFER LOPEZ's first husband OJANI NOA is laughing off a new cease and desist missive from the singer/actress' lawyers, insisting his new parody of his marriage to the star doesn't breach a legally-binding agreement not to reveal details of the couple's late 1990s union.
Lopez's attorneys have already successfully blocked Noa's plans to release a tell-all book about his courtship and one-year marriage to the pop star and now they want him to scrap a 'mockumentary' set to go before the cameras in 2010. But Noa and his production partner Ed Meyer already have a director on board - Joe Estevez - and casting has begun on the project, tentatively titled How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The J-lo and and Ojani Noa Story. Meyer insists the new cease and desist letter holds no weight - and filming will proceed as planned. He tells WENN, 'Citing a 2007 injunction against writing about Lopez’s personal life, the letter signed by attorney John Lavely states that the film constitutes 'a blatant and malicious violation of my client’s legal rights and undeniably violates the clear command of the Court’s injunction'. 'It continues: 'Your announced intention to produce a motion picture... about Noa and Lopez and their tumultuous marriage (as characterized on the website) violates the injunction.' 'The 2007 injunction prevents Noa from licensing, disseminating, distribution... any book manuscript or other written materials which contain private or intimate details about Lopez or Noa’s relationship with Lopez. But this is a 100 per cent parody, and, as such, is not impacted by the injunction.' In a written response to law firm Lavely and Singer's cease and desist instruction, Meyer scolds, 'As the premiere Entertainment Industry IP Lawyers (sic), you and Marty (Singer) must know and realize that your threats are moot when it comes to film that is 100% a parody. 'It is a mockumentary, basically a parody ala Borat.' Noa, a former waiter, and Lopez were married for a year from 1997 to 1998. The artist usually known as Jennifer Lopez will unveil her new alter-ego, "Lola," at Miami's Fontainebleau tonight. J. Lo will debut her new music video, "Fresh Out of the Oven," featuring Pitbull at the hotel's LIV nightclub. Sources say Lopez created the character -- the way Mariah Carey created "Mimi" -- for her new dance track, but she won't stay as Lola full-time.

Jennifer Lopez insists she doesn’t get “jealous” of her husband Marc Anthony’s female fans.
The Jenny From The Block hitmaker says she and Anthony — who are parents to 18-month-old twins Max and Emme — refuse to play “games” with one another. “I don’t get jealous,” she said. “We don’t play that game. We don’t say, ‘Hey, did you see that girl/guy looking at me?’ That is not our thing. “You’d have to ask him if he gets jealous, but honestly, we don’t play that game or any other game. “My family is the most important thing in my life. It’s hard to do everything, you have to make that effort. Politics as usual? Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony took over Washington D.C. on Wednesday.
They joined Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi — and members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus — on Capitol Hill to discuss education in the Latino community and the college affordability legislation the House will consider this week. They also hit the Oval Office, where they brought their 1-year-old twins Max and Emme. "Max was tearing up the White House," Anthony told the Washington Post. Later, President Barack and Michelle Obama joined Lopez, 40, and Anthony at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute's black-tie gala, where Anthony received a lifetime achievement award -- on his 41st birthday. "I'm telling you, J-Lo, watch out," Obama said from the lectern, teasing her about the Latina Congress members who have a crush on her husband. JENNIFER LOPEZ AND ROSIE PEREZ GO HEAD-TO-HEAD OVER SOTOMAYOR BIOPIC PLANS
Puerto Rican actresses JENNIFER LOPEZ and ROSIE PEREZ are battling over the rights to turn the life story of SONIA SOTOMAYOR, the first Latina appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court, into a movie.
The former In Living Color stars have been following the rise of Sotomayor's career since before she was nominated for the Supreme Court by President Barack Obama earlier this year (09). According to reports, they are both keen to make a biopic - and the race is on to see who can secure the film rights first. A source tells the National Enquirer, "Rosie resents Jennifer going after the project because she says she would have wanted to make the movie whether Sotomayor was confirmed or not. "(Lopez) hosted a dinner party for Justice Sotomayor right after her confirmation. It was to butter her up because Lopez thinks a film about her life story would be huge. Hey guys, as you can see I have changed the site, this is only a temp. version though. The gallery is still the same, I've only resized the thumbnails. I seriously need to work on something much better for this site, and also it would be great if I could update it with more recent pictures and stuff but my main problem is a lack of time to do so. I'm going to get help with the design from a friend of mine who launched her site three day ago, and maybe I'll post again in a very near future on the main page if I need help with the news or pictures from you guys. Anyway, for now you can see we have a new affiliate, please visit this nice site :
