Jennifer Lopez film heads to the border
Jennifer Lopez's film "Bordertown" will open in El Paso on Oct. 19.

Those associated with the film are trying to arrange for Lopez to come to El Paso for a screening of the film, but nothing is planned as of yet.

"Bordertown," based on true events, is the story of one woman's passionate struggle for justice in a town gripped by fear. American journalist Lauren (Jennifer Lopez) arrives in Juárez determined to find the truth about hundreds of murdered women.

The film, directed by Gregory Nava, also stars Antonio Banderas and Martin Sheen and is expected to be shown in several El Paso theaters.

The film, to be distributed by ThinkFilm in the United States, will probably have a staggered release, said Gabriel Reyes, president of Reyes Entertainment, which is doing publicity for the film.

Lopez received the Amnesty International "Artists for Amnesty" award at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year in recognition of her work as producer and star of "Bordertown."

According to a comprehensive analysis by Amnesty International, about 400 young women have been murdered or abducted in the Mexican cities of Juárez and Chihuahua since 1993.

'I'm partly to blame for my failed relationships', admits Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez admits that she is also to blame for the fact that her pervious relationships didn't work out. The singer, now happily wedded to Marc Antony, has been married to male model Ojani Noa and dancer Cris Judd, and has had high profile relationships that didn't last with P. Diddy and Ben Affleck.

She revealed that though it has been difficult, she can now admit that she was partly responsible for the breakdown on her relationships.

"I learnt to take a look at myself and not to point the finger, like, 'Well, this person did this to me.' But say, 'What did I do?' The hardest thing in life is to really look at yourself in the mirror and ask, 'What's not so good about me, what can I fix?' It's so much easier to play the victim, I think," the Daily Snack quoted her, as saying.

And, her new attitude is also helping her marriage to singer Marc Antony.

"Your responsibility for what you do in a relationship is the most important thing and not always going, 'He could do this better and he could do that better.' Well, what can I do better, you know? I could have taken the time to really ask what was wrong," she said.

Jennifer Lopez's line sparkles at Fashion Week
Big colorful butterflies hanging from the ceiling. Pink, purple and green trees. A model dressed as a fairy, on a swing.

Jennifer Lopez said her new young contemporary line was "fantasy - classic inspiration but with a new, kind of funky spin," so she turned the setting of her JustSweet show Tuesday night at New York Fashion Week into a fairy tale.

Models pranced down a silver sparkling runway wearing colors called pixie dust, magic mint and pirate pink. The clothes were sparkling, too, ranging from a sweater dress with thick, sparkling, colorful, diagonal stripes to denim boy shorts with a sparkling brown hoodie.

Her outfits alternated between sophisticated - lots of minidresses - and casual - a pair of skinnies with a cargo green graphic T-shirt. She incorporated her signature one-shoulder look, but didn't go overboard, along with bell sleeves and cropped jackets to add chic to all that trendiness.

Lopez, 37, said she developed JustSweet to fill the void between J.Lo, her denim and T-shirt urban wear line, and Sweetface, a high-fashion, higher-priced line. She wanted to do something in the middle. All the pieces range from $49 to $99. She said she designed the line for the young at heart.

"Girls who are young who are going to wear it are going to feel sophisticated in it because it does have a chic kind of feeling to it," she said. "But people who are older who wear it are going to feel young, flirty and fun. It really has a nice mix."

The actress-singer, who performed at Fashion Rocks on Thursday, said she's not worried about whether she is taken seriously as a designer.

"I'm not looking for the credibility," she said. "I'm looking to make clothes that every woman can wear."

Jennifer Lopez, "Do It Well" video
While fave Nuyorican J.Lo stepped up her acting game in a major way with the Hector Lavoe biopic El Cantante, unfortunately, her singing stee remains back at the start of the track. But as the "Do It Well" video shows, she definitely hasn't lost her Fly Girl touch: homegirl can still put down the footwork while rockin' a fashionable frock. Check it: CLICK HERE FOR THE VIDEO

In other news, J.Lo has recently earned a $545,000 settlement in a ruling against her first husband, Ojani Noa. Her ex-man had moved to publish a tell-all book about their relationship, but a California judge put the clamp down on his flapping at the mouth. Judge ruled that, in addition to the settlement, Noa must turn over any materials related to the book, and is barred from publishing negative, denigrating or disparaging details about Lo or her relationship. Reportedly, dude was going to dish on J.Lo's alleged affairs during their 11-month marriage - including a tryst with man-to-be Marc Anthony - but her lawyers bodied that idea in June 2006. The current lawsuit is an extension of an earlier ruling by an arbitrator.
